Visa Applications
US C1/D Visa Application

For most vessels, a US C1/D visa is required. You should generally make the application at least 2 months before date of joining, to allow plenty of time to receive your visa. If you need to renew your passport, you should do so BEFORE applying for your visa.

To apply for the visa, you will need to make an appointment at the US embassy or consulate nearest to your residence. Please check the website at www.usembassy.gov for full information and to schedule an appointment at the nearest embassy/consulate.

After you make the online application, you will normally need to visit the Application Support Center to provide photo and fingerprints, and then the embassy / consulate for the visa interview. The website will give you full information and instructions.

As part of the application process, you will need to enter the details of your employment. Your position name, company name, address, and phone number can all be found on your Letter of Employment, which we will send you when your assignment is confirmed.

If you need the contact details for Mexicrew for the visa application, and you do not already have them, please let us know, and we will send to you by email.

Schengen Visa

If you are joining a ship in Europe and your nationality requires it, you will need to apply for a Schengen visa (primarily required for crew from Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica). We will advise you if you need to apply for this visa. To do so, you will need to contact the embassy of the country in which you will join (Spain, Italy, France, etc) in your own country and request the application procedure. We will provide a letter of invitation from the port agent in the country where you will be joining, addressed to the embassy in support of your application.
