For all vessels around the world, the following STCW training is required.
Training must be conducted at an accredited shoreside training facility in your country. We will assist you to locate a suitable training facility if neccessary.
STCW - 95 Basic Safety Training - this comprises the following modules:
- Elementary First Aid (IMO/OMI 1.13)
- Fire Fighting Techniques (IMO/OMI 1.20)
- Personal Survival Techniques (IMO/OMI 1.19)
- Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (IMO/OMI 1.21)
Security Awareness (IMO/OMI 3.27) - This course can be done online, as an alternative to a shoreside school if you prefer. You should take the course "Security Awareness for Cruise Ship Staff (Liberia Flag Approved)". The direct link to the course is:

In Mexico, our preferred partner for all the training courses is CEDEMAR, in Merida, Yucatan - they also have offices in other locations - please contact them for more information. They offer all the required courses for joining a vessel, and also offer the courses necessary for obtaining a Mexican seaman's book, if you need or want to obtain one.
