For all vessels around the world, the following STCW training is required.
Training must be conducted at an accredited shoreside training facility in your country. We will assist you to locate a suitable training facility if neccessary.
STCW - 95 Basic Safety Training - this comprises the following modules:
- Elementary First Aid (IMO/OMI 1.13)
- Fire Fighting Techniques (IMO/OMI 1.20)
- Personal Survival Techniques (IMO/OMI 1.19)
- Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (IMO/OMI 1.21)
Security Awareness (IMO/OMI 3.27) - This course can be done online, as an alternative to a shoreside school if you prefer. You should take the course "Security Awareness for Cruise Ship Staff (Liberia Flag Approved)". The direct link to the course is:

CEDEMAR, in Merida, Yucatan - they also have offices in other locations - please contact them for more information. They offer all the required courses for joining a vessel, and also offer the courses necessary for obtaining a Mexican seaman's book, if you need or want to obtain one.
CIMAR has locations in Cozumel, Coatzacoalcos, Poza Rica, Tampico, Tuxpan, Veracruz and Ciudad del Carmen, and offers all required courses including documents to obtain Mexican Seaman's Book. Contact information on their website - http://www.cimarsc.com.mx/
IENPOP - main office is in Mexico City, however they have locations around the country. They offer all required courses depending on location (Basic Safety Training, Crowd Management, Crisis Management, Security Awareness) and also offer the Iniciacion course which you will need if you are applying for a Mexican Seaman's Book.
